KANSAS CITY, Mo. – August 29, 2019 – Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, bolstered its employment litigation practice with the additions of Shelley Ericsson and Claudia Tran as shareholder and associate, respectively. Ericsson comes to Ogletree Deakins from Armstrong Teasdale LLP, and Tran joins from Martin, Pringle, Oliver, Wallace, & Bauer LLP.

Ericsson has been practicing law for more than two decades and is an experienced trial lawyer, having represented both Missouri and Kansas employers in state and federal courts on a wide range of workplace matters. Her experience also includes counseling companies of all sizes, from family-owned and privately held to Fortune 100 companies on federal and companion state equal employment opportunity laws. Ericsson is very active in the legal community and a member of the Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City, serving as its president in 2011. Ericsson is also a recent graduate of Kansas City’s Centurions Leadership program. She is a frequent public speaker on employment and labor law and litigation, and serves as editor of the Missouri Employment Law Letter, a monthly publication.
She earned her J.D. from University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, her M.S. from University of Denver Sturn College of Law, and her B.A., cum laude, from Missouri State University. She is ranked in The Best Lawyers in America® 2019 for Employment Law – Management and Litigation – Labor and Employment. She’s also been included in the Kansas City Business Journal’s Best of the Bar list since 2007 and maintains a Martindale-Hubbell® “AV” Rating.
Tran is an associate in the firm’s employment law practice group. While at her previous firm, she worked as a general litigation associate practicing in insurance defense, civil and business litigation, workers’ compensation and employment law. She earned her J.D. from Notre Dame Law School and her B.A. from the University of Missouri.
