Ogletree Deakins’ Anne Larson Honored with Leadership Award From Coalition of Women’s Initiatives in Law

   |   Press Release

CHICAGO – October 15, 2019 – Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to announce that Anne Larson received The Leadership Award from the Coalition of Women’s Initiatives in Law.

The Leadership Award is given to a delegate of the coalition who demonstrated commitment and dedication to the Coalition, in addition to the criteria set forth below:

  • Demonstrates an excellence in lawyering and achievement in the nominee’s legal practice
  • Believes in and understands the importance and value of gender parity in the legal profession and consistently advocates for this belief
  • Acknowledges and encourages the full talents, capabilities, skills and rights of women in the profession
  • Encourages women in the profession to accept opportunities and challenges and to expand their circle of influence

Larson concentrates her practice on high stakes litigation. She defends Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) class actions, EEOC pattern-or-practice and disparate impact claims, Title VII discrimination class actions, whistleblower lawsuits, and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) collective actions. Larson’s litigation experience has made her a go-to counselor and risk manager for clients on hiring and firing, disability accommodations, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) issues and social media use, so they can focus on running their businesses and avoid or reduce the time and expense of litigation. She also conducts interactive anti-harassment training and regularly speaks on BIPA and biometric privacy issues, EEOC systemic investigations, transgender policies, and social media issues in the workplace.

Personally, Larson has a passion for the arts and has served as President of the Board for both Shattered Globe Theatre and Hedwig Dances. She also served as Co-Chair of the Chicago Community Trust’s Young Leaders Fund (YLF), an organization that seeks out and makes grants to local not-for-profits dedicated to the arts, children and economic redevelopment. In her spare time, Larson may be found at boot camp, cycling the lakefront with her husband, or planting thousands of tulips in her tiny Chicago yard.
