ATLANTA – July 6, 2020 – Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, welcomes Dave Boland as Chief Knowledge Officer. Boland will be responsible for guiding the firm’s vision with respect to knowledge management and innovation, along with delivering tools and related resources, including the firm’s award-winning proprietary client-facing technology. Boland will lead a talented team of knowledge management practitioners, some of whom are former practicing labor and employment attorneys, strategically positioned throughout Ogletree Deakins’ 53 offices.
Boland brings an enviable level of experience to Ogletree Deakins with more than 20 years of holding senior and C-level positions leading enterprise-wide knowledge management functions for acclaimed organizations. He joins Ogletree Deakins from Grant Thornton where he served as Chief Knowledge Officer. Earlier, Boland held various leadership roles including Deputy Chief Knowledge Officer at Deloitte. In addition to overseeing both U.S. and global knowledge management teams, Boland’s experience includes leading a successful enterprise-wide digital transformation that included the implementation of a digital workspace and multiple mobile apps to support innovation, revenue growth, and operational efficiencies for professional services firms.
Boland is noted as a “wonderful leader with a natural ability to connect with people and build high-performing teams.” He has also been called “an inspirational leader” and is known for “his people ‘first and center’ approach.”

In addition to his experience in knowledge management, Boland is also a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified ScrumMaster®. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia and completed an Executive Education program from Harvard Business School. Boland has received industry and peer acclaim for his work. In 2019, the American Productivity & Quality Center (APQC) honored his accomplishments in their inaugural Excellence in Knowledge Management award.
