Ogletree Deakins Welcomes Robert Morsilli as Shareholder in Boston, Strengthening Traditional Labor Capabilities

   |   Press Release

BOSTON — April 29, 2026 — Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to welcome Robert Morsilli to the firm’s Boston office as a shareholder. Morsilli joins Ogletree Deakins from Jackson Lewis P.C., where he was an Equity Principal and practiced for 24 years with a focus on traditional labor relations.

Morsilli has nearly three decades of experience representing and counseling employers on labor and employment matters, helping them build stable, productive workforces. He has negotiated hundreds of collective bargaining agreements across the healthcare, higher education, human services, warehousing and logistics, hospitality, and manufacturing industries, and has litigated labor arbitrations and defended employers before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Morsilli has also represented employers in single-plaintiff and class and collective actions involving employment discrimination, disability management, wage and hour, and reductions in force before federal and state courts and agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD), and the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL).

Beyond traditional labor matters and litigation, Morsilli advises and counsels employers on the full range of workplace issues that arise day-to-day, from employee relations to shifting regulatory demands. He partners with business leaders to develop proactive policies tailored to each organization’s business goals, equipping employers with the tools needed to achieve successful outcomes while avoiding compliance pitfalls.

“With nearly 30 years of experience at the intersection of labor relations and employment law, Bob brings a rare depth of knowledge to our clients and to the firm,” said Lisa Stephanian Burton, office managing shareholder in Boston. “His record spanning collective bargaining, NLRB defense, and complex litigation across a wide range of industries reflects exactly the kind of seasoned, solutions-oriented counsel our clients rely on. We are thrilled to welcome him to the team.”

Morsilli earned his J.D. from George Washington University Law School and his B.A. from the University of Rhode Island. He has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America© in the Litigation – Labor and Employment category since 2024 and serves on the Board of Directors for the Political Asylum Immigration Reform (PAIR) Project.

“I have long admired the breadth and quality of Ogletree’s representation of management in labor and employment matters,” said Morsilli. “The Ogletree platform, including the firm’s commitment to cutting-edge technologies, will help me provide excellent, efficient service to many long-term clients. At the same time, I am excited to share the knowledge and experience I have acquired over my career with my new colleagues.”
