BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — May 26, 2026 — Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to welcome Brooke Nixon to the firm’s Birmingham office as a shareholder. Nixon joins from Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete, LLP, where she was a partner.
Backed by two decades of legal experience, Nixon’s practice spans the full spectrum of labor and employment law with a focus on employment litigation, workplace compliance, and traditional labor relations. She counsels and represents employers of all sizes, from startups to some of the nation’s largest companies, across Alabama and beyond, to develop proactive workplace strategies to minimize legal risk and avoid costly litigation.
“Brooke is exactly the kind of experienced, versatile attorney our clients in the Southeast rely on,” said David Warren, office managing shareholder in Birmingham. “Her strong ties to Alabama’s employer and legal communities, combined with her command of both traditional labor relations and employment litigation, make her an exceptional addition to our team. We are thrilled to welcome her to the firm.”
Nixon regularly provides advice and counsel on hiring, training, performance management, discipline, and policy development, and she represents companies in disputes involving discrimination, harassment, noncompetition agreements, and retaliatory discharge claims. She has defended numerous employers in matters arising under Title VII, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Nixon manages high-stakes labor matters, including grievance proceedings and arbitration, as well as counseling on union-related issues and matters before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
“Ogletree Deakins’ reputation for delivering sophisticated, management-side labor and employment counsel is second to none,” said Nixon. “I am excited to bring my experience to a firm with this breadth of resources and talent, and to continue serving the clients and communities I care about alongside a team that shares my commitment to practical, results-driven representation.”
Nixon earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and her B.S., summa cum laude, from the University of Alabama. She serves as Vice President of the Bessemer Academy Board of Directors and previously served on the YMCA of Tuscaloosa Board of Directors, where she was the first woman to hold the position of Chief Volunteer Officer. As a professor at Cumberland School of Law and the University of Alabama School of Law, Nixon taught the next generation of attorneys best practices for representing businesses, conducting research, and writing legal documents.
