Khan’s arrival bolsters the firm’s privacy, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities as employer demand continues to grow amid evolving security requirements and the widespread adoption of AI in the workplace. With more than 17 years of legal experience and nearly 8 years serving as General Counsel for a tech-forward consulting firm, Khan partners with executives and in-house leaders with a practical, business-minded approach. Khan’s practice focuses on AI governance, technology, and privacy matters, helping clients navigate rapidly evolving areas of the law.
Khan advises employers on U.S. and international data privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and counsels businesses of all sizes navigating the intersection of AI and technology, regulatory compliance and consumer privacy.

Khan supports multiple industries, with a focus on tech, healthcare, professional employer organizations (PEO), and staffing companies, assisting with multi-state compliance, risk management, and licensing. In addition, she counsels employers on general corporate, operational, and employment matters, including recruiting, onboarding, and employment policies, and delivers executive training.

Khan holds a J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law, with a certificate of specialization in international law, and a B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She regularly authors industry articles and speaks on AI, privacy, and related topics.
Khan is the tenth shareholder to join Ogletree Deakins in California this year. Her arrival follows that of Chicago shareholder Logan Booth, who also joined from Fisher Phillips last month and focuses his practice on cybersecurity and data privacy. Their moves to the firm reflect the continued expansion of the firm’s cybersecurity and data privacy practice, which continues to add experienced attorneys to support growing employer demand for these legal services.
