Alexander J. Merritt

Alexander (Alex) Merritt recently joined the firm’s Atlanta office as a labor and employment associate attorney. Alex assists employers primarily in single plaintiff work. Alex has experience litigating under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act. Alex is also a registered mediator in the state of Georgia and uses his mediation experience to assist the firm.

Alex graduated magna cum laude from Georgia State University College of Law. During law school, Alex served as Research Editor for the Georgia State University Law Review and both a competitor and coach with the Georgia State University Moot Court. Alex earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Georgia and the esteemed Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. During his undergraduate studies, Alex minored in Political Science and Music, earned a certificate in Sports Media from the John Huland Carmical Sports Media Institute, and spent four years as a mellophone player for the University of Georgia Redcoat Band.

Outside of work, Alex enjoys watching Georgia football, cooking, and traveling with his wife.
