Andy represents clients in both Arizona and California. In the past several years, Andy has litigated more than 25 wage and hour class action and California PAGA representative actions in varying industries, including agriculture, automotive, financial services, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, retail, sports, and technology. Andy has successfully negotiated extremely favorable settlements of wage-and-hour class and PAGA actions involving thousands of class members and tens of millions of dollars in potential exposure. Andy has also obtained dismissal of putative class action cases, both through negotiation and successful defense and enforcement of employer’s arbitration agreements and obtained pre-trial dismissal of a PAGA representative actions. Andy also has extensive experience handling single-plaintiff employment matters for employers in Arizona and California state and federal courts, including high-stakes restrictive covenant disputes, and claims for harassment, discrimination, and retaliation brought under the California Fair Employment and Housing Act and Title VII.

On top of his active litigation practice, Andy provides day-to-day practical advice and guidance to employers on Arizona and California employment law compliance, including restrictive covenant agreements, severance agreements, wage statements, independent contractor status, and meal and rest periods, and provides on-site trainings for employers regarding preventing and addressing harassment and retaliation the workplace. Additionally, Andy conducts high-level internal investigations for clients involving public and private company executives to identify and resolve areas of liability efficiently and in a practical manner.

Andy regularly guest lectures to undergraduate and MBA students at Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business regarding employment law, providing students with practical insights and best practices to implement as they become business owners and corporate executives.

Andy has been named to Best Lawyers in America  “Ones to Watch” list for Labor and Employment in 2022, 2023, and 2024.

Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Andy was an associate at the international law firm Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP in Washington, D.C. where he represented clients in significant commercial litigation and regulatory matters in state and federal courts and before federal agencies, and advised corporations on antitrust considerations in billion-dollar M&A transactions.

Andy is a Phoenix native and an alumnus of Brophy College Preparatory and is an avid college basketball and NBA fan.
