Angel is an associate within Ogletree Deakins’ immigration practice group. Since joining the firm in February 2018, Angel has gained a wide range of experience in employment-based immigration matters and corporate processes supporting immigration compliance. Angel’s experience includes preparing USCIS and DOL filings for major employment-based immigration benefits, including H-1B, H-1B1, TN, E-3, L-1, B-1, F-1 STEM OPT, I-140, I-485, EAD/AP, I-751, and I-821 and related processes, including responses to Requests for Evidence and associated requests for family member benefits. Angel also has experience supporting high-volume PERM operations, including PERM audit responses. Through her experience supporting new and small businesses, as well as multinational enterprise clients across industries such as finance, technology, and logistics, she has developed practice skills that enable her to identify and deliver on the needs of different types of clients and their employees based on their circumstances.

Angel earned her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center after completing her Bachelor’s degree at Wake Forest University, where she graduated summa cum laude. During law school, Angel participated in the Center for Applied Legal Studies clinic where she represented a client seeking asylum before the Arlington Asylum Office. She also participated in Georgetown’s Center on Privacy and Technology’s practicum where she researched issues on immigrant surveillance, worker privacy, and civil rights. Angel externed with the Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, Immigrant and Employee Rights Section where she assisted with investigations on unfair documentary practices in I-9 employment eligibility verification and citizenship status discrimination in hiring, firing, and recruitment decisions. In addition, Angel has non-profit experience assisting refugees and asylees applying for adjustment of status, naturalization, and travel documents.
