Athalia I. Magaña

Athalia Magaña is an associate in the San Diego office. Athalia represents employers against claims brought under the Fair Employment Housing Act (FEHA) and the California Labor Code. Athalia defends employers in both state and federal courts, administrative hearings, and arbitrations. She also advises employers and human resource professionals on a broad range of labor and employment matters including day-to-day employment issues, wage and hour laws, leave laws, discipline and termination, and employment policies. Athalia has experience representing clients across various industries including healthcare, finance, technology, hospitality, retail, and more. Athalia has experience in all aspects of litigation from the inception of a claim, through trial.

Athalia earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Irvine. She earned her law degree from California Western School of Law in San Diego, CA. In law school, Athalia was honored for inclusion on the Dean’s List and she received the American Jurisprudence Award for achieving the highest grade available in Trial Practice. She was also awarded the Distinguished Advocate Award as a top competitor in a trial competition.

Athalia received the 2025 Rising Star recognition from San Diego Super Lawyers.

Athalia is a member of the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association and is fluent in Spanish. In her personal time, Athalia enjoys running, weight-lifting, and spending time with her fiance and goldendoodle.
