Awanti Damle is an Associate in the Raleigh, North Carolina office. She focuses her practice on employment-based U.S. immigration and works with high volume, multinational clients to develop short- and long-term immigration strategies for their employees, with a particular focus on clients in the technology and healthcare industries. Awanti is committed to learning her clients’ business needs and navigating the intricacies of immigration regulations to ensure the strategies implemented simultaneously align with business objectives and the applicable regulations.
Awanti advises clients on nonimmigrant visa categories, including H-1B, L-1, O-1, and TN visas, and the various paths to obtaining legal permanent residency, which includes processing applications for individuals of extraordinary ability, outstanding researchers, multinational managers, and skilled and unskilled workers. She has extensive experience in responding to government requests for evidence, including nonimmigrant and immigrant RFEs, and PERM audits.
Awanti received her Bachelors of Arts in Spanish and Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She earned her Juris Doctor from Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law where was an active member of the mock trial team and she excelled in legal research and writing. Prior to joining Ogletree, Awanti drafted a broad range of transactional agreements for an international agriculture company.
