As a member of the firm’s Class Action practice group, Brodie represents employers nationwide in a wide variety of class and collective actions.
Before joining the firm, Brodie was an associate at a commercial and class action litigation boutique firm in Kansas City where he represented plaintiffs and defendants in complex litigation nationwide. There Brodie represented clients in a wide variety of complex matters, with a particular emphasis on oil and gas commercial class actions, mineral rights disputes, pharmaceutical MDLs, and high net-worth trust litigation. Brodie also represented clients in numerous high-stakes appeals before the Supreme Court of Colorado, the Colorado Court of Appeals, the Ohio District Courts of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Ohio, and the United States Circuit Courts of Appeal for the Third, Fourth, and Tenth Circuits.
Brodie also has experience as an outside general counsel for public and private K-12 and higher education institutions across the Midwest. While serving in that role, Brodie focused his practice on board governance, First Amendment issues, Title IX compliance, and government investigations by state education agencies, the Office for Civil Rights of the United States Department of Education, and the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice.
Outside of the firm, Brodie is highly engaged in civic organizations throughout Kansas City, including serving on the Prairie Village Civil Service Commission, the Prairie Village Police Department’s Citizen Advisory Board, and several public education advocacy groups representing Kansas school districts before the Kansas Legislature.
