Cheyna H. Galloway

Associate   |   Indianapolis

Cheyna Galloway is a dedicated labor and employment defense attorney specializing in complex wage and hour litigation. She has represented employers of all sizes, including Fortune 500 companies with a national presence, across a wide range of industries, including health care, finance, retail, technology, hospitality, and manufacturing. Cheyna’s litigation experience includes defending clients against claims brought in state and federal court, in arbitration, by administrative agencies (like the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and similar local agencies, the Department of Labor, and the Indiana Department of Workforce Development), and in small claims court.

A significant portion of Cheyna’s practice is spent defending clients against high-stakes, multi-plaintiff lawsuits—often class or collective actions—alleging systemic violations of labor laws, such as widespread misclassification of workers, improper time rounding, donning and doffing claims, off-the-clock work, and unpaid overtime claims. Cheyna is dedicated to helping clients avoid costly wage and hour claims like these, offering support through Fair Labor Standards Act classification audits, advising clients on commission and bonus plan structuring, assisting with wage and hour policy development and review, conducting timekeeping and payroll practice assessments, and performing multi-state compliance reviews for employers operating in multiple jurisdictions.

Cheyna’s entire legal career has focused exclusively on labor and employment defense—beginning as early as law school where she served as a year-round intern for a national labor and employment defense firm. In addition to her wage and hour practice, Cheyna has regularly represented employers against claims brought under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and against similar state law claims. She has also assisted clients with workplace investigations, compliance trainings, alternative dispute resolution, and handbook reviews, among other employment-related efforts.

Outside of work, Cheyna spends much of her time learning new creative skills. She enjoys everything from fiber arts to large-scale painting, gardening, and average-at-best carpentry. She also enjoys tent camping and hiking with her husband and two kids.
