Chris represents employers in a wide variety of labor and employment matters. His traditional labor relations practice includes matters arising under both the Railway Labor Act and the National Labor Relations Act where he represents employers in collective bargaining, labor arbitrations, mediations, union organizing campaigns and unfair labor practice claims.
Prior to his arrival at Ogletree, he spent 13 years as in-house counsel at Delta Air Lines where he developed strategies to solve complex labor and employment problems. He leverages that experience to assist both unionized and nonunionized employers in a variety of areas such as policy drafting, conducting workplace training for managers, compliance with state and federal law, risk mitigation, leaves management and best practices to develop a culture of positive employee relations. He has extensive experience with the management of drug and alcohol testing and workplace abstinence programs, conducting internal investigations, drafting employment agreements, the WARN Act, workplace audits and restrictive covenants. Chris has also represented employers in administrative forums defending EEOC and DOL/VETS complaints as well as federal courts defending Title VII, USERRA, ADA and FMLA claims.
Chris graduated from Auburn University and served as a Naval Flight Officer in the P-3C aircraft. He graduated from the Emory University School of Law and served as a law clerk for the Honorable Harold Albritton at the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama.
