Dominick D. Ellis

Nick is an associate in Ogletree’s Indianapolis office. Nick joined the firm in 2025 and contributes to the Employment Law practice group. Nick concentrates his practice on state and federal court litigation, commercial litigation, and employment law.

Before joining Ogletree Deakins, Nick was a litigation attorney at a regional law firm, where he gained experience defending claims involving contract disputes, breach of fiduciary duty, business torts, premises liability, non-compete agreements, and lease disputes in Indiana and Kentucky. He has been recognized as a “Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch” by Best Lawyers.

After completing an undergraduate degree at Grand Valley State University, Nick earned his J.D. at the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg School of Law, where he served as senior staff editor for the Kentucky Journal of Equine, Agricultural, and Natural Resources Law and as vice president of the Black Law Student Association. Nick also spent six years in the Army National Guard, where he served as a signal support specialist.

Outside of work, Nick enjoys traveling, mentoring the youth, and playing sports. A native of Detroit, Nick is an avid fan of all Michigan teams.
