Donald (Doni) Bulea is a seasoned litigator and problem solver providing clients with practical solutions to employment problems. Doni has successfully represented employers in litigation in state and federal courts in Ohio and Michigan as well as arbitration, involving claims for discrimination and retaliation in violation of Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act, FMLA interference and retaliation, violation of constitutional rights under 42 U.S.C. §§ 1983, and correlated state statutes, as well as litigating restrictive covenants across many industries. Doni has tried several cases to verdict and has also obtained temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions for his clients.
For ten years (2012 through 2022), Doni served as Chair of the Board of Brite Cleveland, a 501(c) non-profit, that plans and presents the annual Brite Winter Festival, a community arts and music festival, including oversight of legal compliance, governance, risk management, contracting, and budgeting for the organization. Doni has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star for Employment Litigation, is a recipient of The Cleveland Professional 20-30 Club Mover & Shakers Award, and is a Barrister in the Cleveland Employment Inn of Court. Doni also served as a Team Chair for the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s 3Rs program, which provided in-school volunteer education to high school juniors about their legal rights, responsibilities, and realities so they are better prepared to enter life as an adult.
Doni graduated from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, magna cum laude, in the top 10% of his class, and received multiple awards including Editor of the Year for The Journal of Law and Health.
