Elizabeth R. Gift

Associate Charlotte

Elizabeth is a fully-integrated partner in her clients' employment challenges.

Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Elizabeth was an intern with the EEOC – an experience that provided her with a unique perspective into an administrative agency that at times can be a mystery to other employer-side lawyers.

An aggressive litigator, Elizabeth devotes a substantial amount of her practice to employment litigation. From handling discovery-related issues to dispositive motions and beyond, she takes an active role in all aspects of employment-defense litigation.

In addition, Elizabeth regularly defends employers before federal and state administrative agencies and has experience handling wage and hour issues, negotiating commercial contracts, and drafting employment agreements. She also routinely provides strategic advice and counsel to clients regarding all facets of the employment relationship.

A graduate of the College of Charleston, Elizabeth was awarded the Eileen Blain Rudolph Scholar Award for outstanding academic achievement while also working as a reporter and producer for the campus television station "Cougar Television." Following college, Elizabeth graduated as the Salutatorian of her law school class and served as an Editor of the Law Review and President of the Order of the Crown Society.
