Erik’s practice focuses on the defense of single-plaintiff employment litigation. He has broad experience defending employers in employment litigation matters, including workplace discrimination, harassment, retaliation, failure to accommodate, wrongful termination, and wage and hour claims. Erik represents employers of all sizes in both state and federal court, as well as in arbitration, and handles administrative claims before California’s Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE) and Civil Rights Department (CRD). Additionally, Erik has represented numerous multinational corporations in various complex commercial civil litigation matters, including trade secret violations.
Erik has deep experience managing complex legal disputes and providing strategic guidance to clients. Erik is committed to reaching the right outcome for every client, be it through litigation or settlement.
Before joining Ogletree Deakins, Erik was a partner at a major international employment law firm, and Senior Counsel at another large national employment firm.
Erik speaks Spanish and Swedish and. He received his law degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law in 2002, and his Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1998, with a major in Business-Economics, and a minor in Accounting. Erik is admitted to practice before all California courts, and is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales (currently non-practicing).
