Everard E. Potter

Everard Potter was born in the British Virgin Islands and relocated to the United States Virgin Islands at a very early age. He received an undergraduate degree in Economics from Jersey City University. He followed that up with his law degree from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio in 1992. Right after law school, Everard clerked for two Judges of the local Superior Court.

Everard is a member of the Virgin Islands Bar and the Washington State Bar. His first job after clerking was as the Chief Administrative Law Judge of the Virgin Islands Department of Labor, where he held that position for about 4 years. He then moved to Seattle, Washington, where he held various law jobs which ended with him working as General Counsel for the Washington State Nurses Association.

Everard returned to St. Thomas in 2001 and became an associate with a local law firm, where he practiced mostly labor and employment law. In 2006, he accepted the position of Assistant United States Attorney for the District of the Virgin Islands and held that position until 2025.

In January 2026, Everard joined Ogletree Deakins as Senior Counsel.

Everard loves to travel and watching movies at home. He also enjoys discussing politics and world events.
