Fernando is an of counsel in the firm’s Los Angeles Office and a member of the firm’s Employment Law and Litigation practice groups. Fernando’s practice focuses on representing employers in a wide range of employment matters, including single plaintiff discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination and whistleblower claims, as well individual wage and hour claims. Fernando’s practice also includes handling wage and hour class and representative actions on behalf of employers. Fernando’s past clients range from private employers in all types of industries, to non-profit organizations, to public entities employers, including cities, police departments, universities and school districts. Fernando represents employers in both litigated and pre-litigation matters in state and federal courts, as well as administrative agencies, including the CRD, EEOC and DIR. Fernando is a devoted advocate and advisor to his clients. He is trusted for his judgment and perspective, and praised for his client-centered service and solutions.
Before practicing law, Fernando pursued a career in diplomacy and the foreign service. He is a recipient of the prestigious Woodrow Wilson National Foundation Fellowship, a fellowship for minorities in public policy and foreign affairs. He holds a master’s degree in international relations, and has worked abroad at various international organizations.
