Justin R. Vanderveer

Justin Vanderveer is an associate in the Phoenix office focusing on management side employment issues and defending employers in litigation matters.

Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Justin assisted clients at an international employment law firm and a local boutique general practice firm. He has litigated numerous employment issues, white-collar criminal and civil matters, and general commercial litigation matters during his career. Justin’s practice has also focused on assisting clients at the regulatory level by providing Government Relations services.   

During law school, Justin was a member of the University of Denver’s National Trial Team, winning back-to-back regional championships and placing Top 10 in the National Trial Competition. He received the Lewis F. Powell Jr. Medal for Excellence in Advocacy in 2020 and 2021 from the American College of Trial Lawyers. Additionally, Justin served as President for the Moot Court Board, co-founded the Air and Space Law Society, and served as Treasurer for the Student Trial Lawyers Association. Justin was also a legal intern for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and prior to law school, he interned for S&P Global’s in-house government affairs division.

Justin has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star since 2024. Justin is licensed in Arizona, Colorado, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona.
