Kristyn’s practice focuses on international employment and cross-border advisory work for multinational companies in jurisdictions throughout North America, EMEA, ANZ, APAC, and LATAM. Drawing on a deep foundation in U.S. employment law and extensive experience handling complex litigation and compliance matters, she helps in-house legal teams navigate the full spectrum of workforce issues across the globe with a keen appreciation for U.S. corporate strategies and risk tolerances.
International Employment and Cross-Border Advisory Practice
Kristyn advises multinational employers through every stage of the employment lifecycle and across the corporate landscape. She counsels clients on establishing and managing global workforces, including the legal considerations implicated by global independent contractors and contingent workers. Her counseling spans the issues multinational employers encounter day-to-day relating to recruiting, employee entitlements, performance management, reductions in force, and terminations. Additionally, she supports market entry and expansion by guiding companies through options to establish a local legal presence, lawfully engage workers in a given country, and address country-specific nuances such as background checks and privacy laws, mandatory policies, and contractual requirements. She also has experience drafting global contracts, employee handbooks, and workplace policies that harmonize multinational standards while respecting local law, enabling consistent, scalable implementation across regions.
U.S. Employment Law Foundation
Before focusing on cross-border matters, Kristyn accumulated extensive experience in U.S.-based employment litigation and counseling for clients across a range of industries. She has represented employers in discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wage-and-hour, and whistleblower disputes, including class and collective actions. Her background includes defending lawsuits brought by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and administering consent decrees. This litigation-tested perspective equips her to anticipate downstream risk, design defensible frameworks, and deliver pragmatic advice that aligns with operational realities and broader U.S. business objectives—capabilities uniquely valuable to U.S.-headquartered multinationals confronting cross-border intricacies.
Experience in Investigations, Compliance, and Risk Management
Kristyn has experience conducting internal investigations to assess allegations of employee misconduct and potential legal claims, including interviewing witnesses, and preparing comprehensive investigation reports and strategic follow-up materials. She also has experience advising federal contractors and private employers on regulatory compliance, workplace and pay equity, and legal risk management. Through this work, Kristyn has guided clients on obligations administered by U.S. agencies, including the DOL and the EEOC, with respect to hiring, compensation, and accommodations. For in-house counsel, this background translates into integrated, end-to-end support that aligns global employment structure with local compliance and enterprise-level risk mitigation.
