Marco E. Arias is member of the Cross-Border Practice Group of Ogletree Deakins. Prior to joining the firm, Marco spent more than a decade at a boutique Labor and Employment firm in Costa Rica, where he became its youngest partner in 2019. From 2020 to 2026, Marco led the firm’s regional practice, working closely with their regional office to ensure the quality and consistency of the deliverables and that clients received timely and technically-sound advice.
Marco has experience advising clients of all shapes and sizes, from small, family-owned businesses to large multinational corporations, in both local and cross-border matters. He is fluent in both his native Spanish and English and has frequently led training sessions for clients in eitherlanguage.
Marco graduated from the Faculty of Laws at the University of Costa Rica in 2014 and obtained his LLM from the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in 2016. With experience and education in both the US and Costa Rica countries, Marco has ample experience helping international clients understand the intricacies and characteristics of different jurisdictions.
