Maria Escobar is a skilled litigator who has won numerous dispositive motions (take-nothing dismissals) in various courts. She defends all aspects of employment disputes, whether in court, arbitration, or before an administrative agency. Maria’s practice focuses on claims involving discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. However, employment issues can often arise before a charge or lawsuit is filed. Maria helps employers navigate these issues by providing responsive, sound, and practical advice and counsel. Maria is experienced in workplace investigations, having conducted numerous workplace investigations for private employers, state agencies, and federally regulated employers with allegations involving sexual harassment, sexual assault, discrimination, and retaliation.
Not only is Maria well acquainted with employment issues, Maria is also experienced in civil commercial issues, ranging from breach of contract, construction defects, first-party insurance defense, products liability and more, having previously represented clients in such matters through all phases of litigation including trial.
Being one to love a challenge, Maria graduated from Oklahoma State University with two separate degrees in only three years. She then graduated magna cum laude from Oklahoma City University School of Law where she received numerous CALI Awards, became a Holloway Scholar, and was inducted to the Order of the Barristers. Along with her practice, Maria has represented refugees pro bono in seeking asylum.
