Merissa L. Osswald

Special Counsel   |   Denver

Merissa serves as Special Counsel with the firm’s Navigator Program.  She is passionate about advising human resource professionals, business stakeholders, and corporate leaders on the increasingly-complex myriad of employment law related issues they face.  Her years of experience working as an employment lawyer in corporate legal departments has allowed her to hone her ability to analyze an issue from a legal perspective while simultaneously considering the business factors at play for the client.  Her greatest satisfaction comes from helping clients navigate challenging legal issues so that they can come to the right solution from both a legal and business perspective.

In her practice, Merissa provides advice and counsel on a wide array of employment law and human resources matters, including discrimination and harassment laws, investigations, discipline, discharge, wage and hour issues, disability accommodations, leaves of absence, non-compete issues, employment applications, employee handbooks, employment policies, performances appraisals, drug and alcohol testing, and reductions in force.

Prior to practicing law, Merissa served as a Personnel Management Officer in the U.S. Army, and also worked as a corporate human resources professional.
