Michael Francisco is an associate in Ogletree Deakins’ St. Thomas office. Michael came to Ogletree Deakins by way the Virgin Islands Department of Justice, where he worked as an Assistant Attorney General in the Solicitor General’s Division, handling all manner of civil and criminal matters before federal, territorial, and administrative tribunals. Michael has successfully argued before the Third Circuit Court of Appeals in employment, trademark, and tax disputes. He has also acted as both lead counsel and representative of the Virgin Islands in a highly consequential antitrust and consumer protection enforcement action, successfully surviving defendants’ numerous motions to dismiss. More recently, Michael has represented Ogletree Deakins’ clients at every stage of disputes involving claims of discrimination, wrongful discharge, negligence, defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, wrongful death, breach of contract/duty of good faith and fair dealing, product defects, and violations of free speech. Michael is also an active member in the Virgin Islands Bar Association, having served on its Board of Governors and sat on various committees. Michael brings this wide range of experience and relationships to bear in support of his clients’ objectives and desired outcomes.
