Per represents employers in litigation and counseling roles. He has defended a wide variety of employment matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, family and medical leave, reasonable accommodation, wrongful termination, breach of contract, and wage and hour issues. He also has experience with trade secrets, non-competes, and civil rights litigation. He successfully defends clients before Washington state and federal courts at the trial and appellate level and has also appeared before various federal and state agencies. Per uses this experience to inform his workplace counseling and investigations practice.
Before joining Ogletree, Per served as a Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for King County, where he defended employment claims and advised County officials. Prior to that, he practiced labor and employment law at prominent national law firms in the Seattle area. He also served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Stanley A. Bastian, U.S. District Judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Washington.
Per received his J.D. from Stanford Law School, where he served as an articles editor for the Stanford Law Review. He earned a B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Cincinnati, where he received the McKibbon Medal for Outstanding Graduate; and a master’s degree from the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning.
