Sifat Ahmed is counsel at the Austin office of Ogletree Deakins. She is admitted to the New York Bar and a member of the Bar of England and Wales. She specializes in Business Immigration advising multinational corporations on the full spectrum of employment-based immigration matters including PERM Labor Certification, Immigration Petition, Adjustment of Status, H-1B, E-3, and L-1. Being raised in Saudi Arabia by expatriate parents, Sifat draws on her own immigration journey bringing empathy and insight to help clients navigate complex legal processes.
Prior to joining Ogletree, Sifat worked at a national business immigration firm in Boston where she guided corporate clients across multiple industries, including consultancy, biotechnology, oil and gas, investment management, and mining, among others, through the entire immigration lifecycle for foreign national employees from early career non-immigrant support to attainment of employment-based green card. She partnered with Fortune 500 corporate clients working with them to develop strategic plans for the movement of personnel around the world. Sifat also volunteered at the Rian Immigrant Center, which provides pro bono assistance on a range of matters, including legal permanent residency and naturalization.
Outside of work, Sifat enjoys traveling, cooking for friends and family, small-scale renovations, and DIY projects.
