Stephanie Addison serves as Special Counsel with the firm’s EEO Advantage Administrative Charges Program, where she defends employers nationwide in administrative proceedings before the EEOC and state and local fair employment practice agencies. She has handled a wide range of claims involving discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, and works closely with in-house counsel and human resources professionals to guide matters from intake through resolution. Her work includes conducting investigations, reviewing and analyzing key documents, assessing risk, drafting position statements, managing agency requests for information, and engaging in mediation and settlement negotiations.
Stephanie also advises employers on a broad range of day-to-day employment law and workplace compliance matters, including workplace investigations, employee relations issues, discipline and discharge decisions, leave management, accommodations, and policy development. She partners with clients to develop practical, business-focused strategies that balance legal risk with operational needs.
Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Stephanie served as in-house employment counsel for a large healthcare system, where she worked closely with Human Resources, Employee Relations, and business leaders to manage employment risk and resolve complex workplace issues. Her background also includes private practice litigation experience and government investigative experience, which inform her practical, strategic, and risk-focused approach to client counseling.
Stephanie earned her J.D. from the University of Chicago, a Master’s degree in Education from Harvard University, and her Bachelor of Science from Northwestern University. She is admitted to practice in Illinois.
