Susan serves as a member of the firm’s EEO Advantage Administrative Charges Team. In her role as Special Counsel, Susan defends employers in administrative charge matters filed with federal and state and local agencies nationwide, from inception to conclusion, reviewing pertinent documents, interviewing key witnesses, providing risk assessments, drafting persuasive position statements and preparing responses to government agency requests for information. Susan also represents employers at mediations and defends them in settlement and/or conciliation negotiations.
In addition to dedicating her practice to defending firm clients by responding to and resolving administrative agency charges, Susan has substantial in-house experience, where her responsibilities have included providing legal advice, counseling, and training on the full range of employment-related matters; investigating, managing and resolving internal complaints of discrimination and retaliation; and managing external counsel in employment litigation matters (single plaintiff and class/collective actions) from intake through resolution. As a subject matter expert with more than 20 years of legal and business experience serving as counselor and advisor to executive management and senior staff, human resources, and risk management, Susan possesses a deep understanding of various laws with respect to labor and employment compliance issues.
