Thomas is a management-side labor and employment attorney who combines a hands-on litigation approach with extensive experience in traditional labor relations and day-to-day workplace counseling. He regularly defends employers against discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage-and-hour claims in state and federal courts, as well as before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the New York State Division of Human Rights, and state and local human rights agencies across New England.
On the traditional labor side, Thomas represents management in union avoidance, collective bargaining, grievance arbitration, and unfair labor practice proceedings. He handles matters before numerous administrative agencies, including the National Labor Relations Board and the Public Employment Relations Board, and provides strategic guidance on navigating unionized workplaces in both the private and public sectors.
Thomas also advises employers on the full spectrum of day-to-day employment matters, including disciplinary actions and terminations, employment and separation agreements, restrictive covenants, internal investigations, and compliance with state and federal employment laws. He partners with clients to develop and implement workplace policies focused on risk management and proactive compliance.
His litigation practice spans every stage of a dispute — from initial investigation and pleadings through depositions, mediation, settlement negotiations, and court appearances. His approach is grounded in practicality: Thomas focuses on understanding each client’s business so he can deliver targeted, effective counsel.
Outside of work, Thomas enjoys ice hockey, golf, and traveling with his fiancée.
