Tim Wolfe represents employers in employment and labor law matters. Tim litigates and counsels numerous clients on issues related to compliance with Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Older Worker Benefit Protection Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and the Illinois Human Rights Act. Tim has secured over 30 summary judgment rulings in favor of employers in employment litigation cases. He also advises clients and litigates cases involving the Fair Labor Standards Act and comparable state laws. Tim also has substantial jury trial experience in federal and state courts across the county. For example, Tim obtained defense verdicts on behalf of a number of clients, including an agricultural processing company accused of unlawful discrimination and retaliation in the Circuit Court for Macon County, Illinois; an industrial supply company accused of religious discrimination in U.S. District Court in Chicago; an insurance company accused of unlawful FMLA retaliation in U.S. District Court in New York; an insurer accused of age discrimination by a former employee in state court in Massachusetts; an agricultural products business accused of race and gender discrimination and retaliation in state court in Illinois; and, a university police department accused of unlawful retaliation in U.S. District Court in Chicago.
Tim has also worked closely with clients to develop clear and effective policies and procedures that comply with employment laws including workforce reductions and post-employment restrictive covenants. Tim has also drafted numerous employee handbooks and other employment law policies. Clients and other law firms have also hired Tim to conduct independent investigations regarding claims of discrimination or unlawful harassment in the workplace. In conjunction with these investigations, Tim has worked with clients and non-clients alike to help them ensure that they are in compliance with state and federal employment laws. Tim has also given speeches and seminars to corporate law departments, human resources organizations, and client managers.
Tim has been recognized as an Illinois “Super Lawyer” regularly and was identified as an Acritas Star for client service. He has over 30 years of experience in commercial and employment litigation and has worked with employers in numerous industries across the country.
Tim graduated cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Illinois in 1985 with degrees in political science and speech communication. He received his law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1988.
