Vanessa M. Ruggiero

Vanessa focuses her practice on representing employers in litigation involving discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wage and hour claims. She is a strategic problem solver, focused on understanding her clients’ unique business needs and values as it relates to their legal representation.

As an associate in the firm’s Philadelphia office, Vanessa represents and counsels clients on labor and employment matters. She is experienced in defending employment related claims in federal and state court, and before agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, the National Labor Relations Board, and the United States Department of Labor. Vanessa is also trained in trauma informed lawyering and advocacy.

Vanessa is a graduate of Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law and Lehigh University. While at Villanova Law, she served as the Chair of the Moot Court Board. Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Vanessa was an attorney at an Am Law 200 firm where she primarily practiced employment defense litigation. Vanessa is currently a member of the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law J. Willard O’Brien American Inn of Court.
