Maggie rejoins the Minneapolis office of Ogletree Deakins as an associate attorney after spending two summers with the office as a summer associate and completing a one-year judicial clerkship with the Honorable Sarah E. Hennesy of the Minnesota Supreme Court.
Before becoming an attorney, Maggie was a public-school teacher for four years where she developed strong communication and interpersonal skills that now distinguish her legal practice. Maggie is a proud Ole and the graduation speaker of her class. After graduating from St. Olaf where she studied American Studies, Education, and Linguistics, Maggie taught English to second language learners as well as elementary subjects to Chinese immersion learners while also pursuing a Master of Education degree (M.Ed.) from the University of Minnesota. Working with diverse students and families taught Maggie the value of patience and empathy—qualities she brings to every client relationship. Now as an attorney, she approaches each matter with the same patience and dedication she brought to teaching, helping clients feel informed, supported, and confident throughout the legal process.
Maggie graduated magna cum laude from the University of St. Thomas School of Law. During law school, Maggie discovered her passion in employment law and immigration law. She was a certified student practitioner at the Immigration Law Clinic of St. Thomas and the President of the student club, the Immigration Law Society. As a law student, Maggie gained invaluable courtroom experience serving as the judicial extern to the Honorable Keala C. Ede of the Minnesota Court of Appeals and the Honorable John F. Docherty of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. Maggie also externed at the Office of General Counsel at the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) where she learned the function of a government agency and the importance of community outreach. Maggie also had the amazing opportunity to hone in on her legal research and writing skills as the Senior Editor of the University of St. Thomas Law Review.
In addition to her professional responsibilities, Maggie serves as the Vice President of Communication of the Minnesota Asian Pacific American Bar Association (MNAPABA). Outside of work, Maggie enjoys figure skating and cooking authentic Chinese cuisine to share with friends and family.
