The 2017 EEO-1 survey is now open for 2017 filings, which affected employers must complete by March 31, 2018. To access the survey and begin the filing process, click on the login button on the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s website. As a reminder, the Office of Management and Budget stayed the pay data collection requirement for the 2017 EEO-1 report in late August 2017. As a result, affected employers are not required to provide pay information on the EEO-1 form—meaning that the 2017 report is identical to the 2016 version.

To complete the 2017 report, employers must collect a snapshot of their employment data on a date of the employer’s choice ranging from October 1 to December 31, 2017. The passwords used for the 2016 EEO-1 report will no longer work and may be reset using the “Get Password” link on the login webpage. For those employers that are federal contractors, consider using December 31, 2017 as the date for the employment data snapshot. This employment data can be then used for both the 2017 EEO-1 reports and the 2018 VETS 4212 reports, which must be filed by September 30, 2018.
