California Governor Gavin Newsom recently signed into law Assembly Bill (AB) 2188, which protects employees’ off-duty use of marijuana. AB 2188 not only amends the state’s anti-discrimination laws to protect off-duty use, but it prohibits employers from taking adverse action against employees based on the results of commonly used marijuana drug tests.
