INDIANAPOLIS – April 17, 2023 – Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to welcome Susan Zoeller to the firm’s Indianapolis office as a shareholder. Zoeller joins Ogletree Deakins from Jackson Lewis, where she was a principal.
For more than 25 years, Zoeller has acted as an advocate for businesses and entrepreneurs across the country. She focuses her practice on employment litigation and counseling, partnering with employers to develop practical solutions that mitigate legal risks and achieve business goals. Zoeller has extensive experience representing employers in the retail industry. She also collaborates with clients from several other industries, including communications, manufacturing, hospitality, and restaurants.

Zoeller regularly represents and counsels businesses with respect to matters involving trade secrets and unfair competition; federal and state wage and hour laws; wage/hour investigations and audits; employment discrimination and harassment laws; state and federal leave of absence laws; workplace investigations; non-competition, non-solicitation and other restrictive covenants; whistleblower issues; and reductions in force. As an experienced trial lawyer, Zoeller has successfully litigated numerous disputes on behalf of employers involving a wide variety of employment laws before federal and state courts, administrative agencies, and other tribunals throughout the country. She is also well versed in alternative dispute resolution proceedings, such as arbitration, mediation, and conciliation.
Recognized nationally for her legal acumen, Zoeller has been named in the “Employment Law – Management” category of The Best Lawyers in America© since 2018. She is an active member of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the American Bar Association, Indianapolis Bar Association-Women in the Law Division, and the National Association of Women Lawyers. Zoeller is also the past president of the Indianapolis Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
Zoeller earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Indiana University School of Law–Bloomington and a B.A., summa cum laude, from Ball State University.
