On September 29, 2016, the U.S. Department of Labor announced its final rule implementing Executive Order 13706, which requires that federal contractors provide paid sick leave to employees working on, or in connection with, certain federal contracts. With the January 1, 2017 effective date for the new requirements rapidly approaching, now is the time to determine whether your contracts are covered by the executive order and, if they are, how to create a plan of action to comply with the rule.
