Pay transparency is becoming a significant and challenging compliance issue for employers that have prioritized pay equity. The U.S. Congress currently is considering transparency legislation, and a number of states and local jurisdictions have already passed laws designed to make it easier for applicants and employees to learn their peers’ compensation. In this webinar, the speakers will discuss a number of these state and local laws, including laws requiring employers to affirmatively post information regarding the pay applicable to posted jobs or to provide pay range information to applicants upon request as well as laws restricting employers from implementing policies that prohibit employees from discussing their pay. The speakers will also provide practical guidance for interpreting and complying with these laws.
