Governor Gavin Newsom has recently signed more than 20 employment-related bills into law. Join us for an informative webinar on how this new legislation will impact your business and employees. Last year, California introduced the “stay or pay” law. This year, the legislature temporarily rolled back that law but has reintroduced a slightly different version. The urgency legislation takes effect immediately, while the new version will go into effect on January 1, 2027. The speakers will discuss how the new act affects existing agreements, considerations for the end of 2026, and important factors for 2027 and beyond. They will also cover new laws targeting AI and workplace surveillance, as well as the addition of an anti-hate speech requirement for California’s mandatory harassment prevention training. Finally, they will review recent court decisions and upcoming state, local, and industry changes related to minimum wage.
