California’s new indoor heat regulation requires employers to establish processes to comply with specific requirements for rest breaks, water, acclimatization, and more. In addition, employers must consider how the indoor heat regulation requirements will impact wage and hour compliance and how failure to comply adequately may lead to claims or class actions under the state’s Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) relating to reimbursement for personal protective equipment (PPE), break policies, and more.
