The State of New York has enacted a first-in-the-nation law mandating that employers provide 20 hours of paid leave per year as a standalone benefit for pregnant employees to obtain prenatal care. Senate Bill 8305C requires all private-sector employers, regardless of their size, to provide this benefit to eligible employees starting January 1, 2025. In this webinar, the speakers will provide an overview of the paid prenatal leave law and share tips on how employers can prepare to implement this leave for eligible employees. The speakers will also discuss the law’s applicability, including how it relates to other federal and state leave laws, as well as details on employee eligibility, leave usage, the types of covered services, and additional responsibilities and compliance requirements for employers.
