Ogletree Deakins Taps Jenn Betts to Lead Pittsburgh Office

ATLANTA – February 24, 2021 – Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, has named Jenn Betts co-managing shareholder of the firm’s Pittsburgh office. Jenn now leads Ogletree Deakins’ presence throughout western Pennsylvania and the surrounding areas, along with co-office managing shareholder Michael Glass, and a robust team of practitioners in the areas of employment litigation, employment law advice and counsel, wage and hour issues, traditional labor relations, workplace safety and health, higher education, drug testing, ERISA litigation, and more. She will assume the office managing shareholder role on a full-time basis in summer 2021, at which point Michael Glass will return to his practice full time.

Jenn represents employers in all areas of labor and employment law, including discrimination, harassment, whistleblower, retaliation, class and collective actions, non-competition and non-disclosure covenants, union campaigns, collective bargaining, and unfair labor practices. She works with clients in an array of industries including technology companies, retailers, manufacturers, banks, and in the energy sector.

In addition to actively managing litigation, a significant portion of Jenn’s practice involves training, proactive counseling, and conducting audits on subjects like the impact of technology on the workplace, compliance with wage and hour laws, avoiding issues of workplace discrimination and harassment, and managing disability accommodation and leaves of absence requests.

Jenn has a successful history of active involvement and leadership in both the firm and legal community, including as co-chair of the firm’s Technology Practice Group and a member of ODWIN, Ogletree Deakins’ women’s initiative. She is a frequent contributor to the Ogletree Deakins’ blog, host of the TECHPLACE™ Talk podcast, and regular presenter at national and local seminars. Jenn is often quoted by legal and technology industry publications on issues including privacy risks, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the workplace, teleworking, cybersecurity, and a host of employment law issues.

Jenn is a Pennsylvania native who graduated, with distinction, from Pennsylvania State University. She earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh. Jenn has a seven-year-old daughter and serves as room parent for her daughter’s second-grade class. In addition to chasing her daughter around Pittsburgh, Jenn enjoys kayaking and baking.
