Ogletree Deakins’ full-service immigration practice assists clients in obtaining temporary employment visas on behalf of executives and managers, researchers, engineers, and other specialized technical employees; obtaining permanent residence status for foreign nationals; advising clients in planning for the immigration impact of mergers and acquisitions; and providing guidance with regard to I-9 compliance and related anti-discrimination provisions.
Jacky provides comprehensive representation to the technology sector and brings extensive experience to bear on the full range of business immigration. What sets her apart is the emphasis she places on collaborating with clients on strategic planning and immigration program management. Jacky has a strong record of partnering with corporations to develop, execute, and continually improve domestic and global immigration programs that deliver value while reflecting the corporate client’s priorities and unique culture. She is a strong contributor to the growth of the immigration practice, the Austin office, and the firm’s strategic alliance with KPMG Law in Germany. As a practice co-chair, Jacky will focus on expanding the firm’s capacity, global capability, and technology offerings alongside KPMG Law in Germany.
Bernhard has two decades of experience giving clients practical advice on U.S. and global immigration law matters, strategic planning, and immigration process improvements. A native of Germany, Bernhard helps clients with matters involving global workforce mobility, immigration strategies and best practices, immigration law compliance and government enforcement matters, and unique immigration options for international assignments and technical assistance projects. He represents clients in the United States and internationally in a range of sectors, including commercial passenger airline, manufacturing, information technology, biotech and biopharma, energy, telecommunication, and professional services. Bernhard has led the Columbia office’s immigration practice to significant growth and previously co-chaired the practice group’s immigration compliance team. As a practice co-chair, Bernhard will further the Immigration Practice Group’s focus on being an integrated first-class service provider and strategic partner for U.S. and global immigration matters in accordance with tenets of the Client Pledge.
