Calgary, Alberta – January 3, 2025 – Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to announce that the firm is growing its Canadian footprint with an office in Calgary, Alberta, the firm’s 59th office globally and third office in Canada. It follows the launch of four new Ogletree Deakins offices since June 2024. Shana Wolch will lead the Calgary office as managing partner. She will be joined by partner Justin Turc, who both arrive from Canadian law firm McCarthy Tétrault.

Wolch and Turc bring deep experience spanning the full spectrum of labor and employment law issues, including occupational health and safety, workers’ compensation, disability management, alcohol and drug policies, human rights, workplace investigations, whistleblower hotlines, collective agreement compliance, and grievance arbitrations. They advise employers across various industries, including oil and gas, energy, utilities, transportation, retail, manufacturing, hospitality, education, and financial services.
Wolch has over two decades of experience, having worked in both in-house and in private practice settings. An active and respected member of her community, Wolch serves on the Board of Directors for the Mount Royal University Foundation and is the Board Secretary for the Rundle College Society. She has been recognized by Chambers Canada and Best Lawyers in Canada™ in Labour and Employment Law and is listed in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory for Workplace Human Rights (Employer).
