Ogletree Deakins Adds Six Labor and Employment Shareholders in Denver and Houston

   |   Press Release

DENVER – October 14, 2026 – Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to welcome six new shareholders to the firm’s Denver and Houston offices from Fisher Phillips LLP. Tami Essis Culkar, Micah Dawson, Janet Himmel, Kimberley Dempster, and Sarah Bennett arrive in Denver, while Lindsay Reimer is based in Houston. The shareholders are joined by senior counsel Julie Lomax in Houston and associate Katie Bostrom in Denver.

The addition of this group contributes to Ogletree Deakins’ strategic growth across the United States and its international footprint. The firm has added more than 30 lateral shareholders in 2026.

“This group brings substantial bench strength in employment litigation and traditional labor to our Denver and Houston offices, and their experience will benefit our clients right away,” said Liz Washko, managing shareholder of Ogletree Deakins. “Welcoming this group of shareholders is a testament to the strength of our platform, our commitment to client service, and the collaborative environment we’ve built across the firm. We are excited to have these talented attorneys join Ogletree Deakins and look forward to the value they will bring to our clients and colleagues.”

The attorneys collectively bring more than 100 years of legal experience to Ogletree Deakins, bolstering the firm’s employment litigation, traditional labor relations, and class and collective action practices while handling complex wage-and-hour, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation matters in numerous industries. In addition to these overlapping areas, each brings their own unique practice and industry experience to serve employers across multiple jurisdictions.

With more than 20 years of experience, Tami Essis Culkar is one of a small number of Denver attorneys who focuses on traditional labor law, representing employers in union campaigns, contract negotiations, grievance arbitrations, unfair labor practice charges, strikes, and other labor-related matters.

Micah Dawson is a labor and employment litigator with more than 16 years of legal experience, and his practice focuses on class and collective action defense, traditional labor relations, and proactive advice and counsel for national and international companies.

Janet Himmel draws on more than a decade of legal experience and a background in human resources to handle complex commercial and employment litigation. Before law school, Himmel served as an Engineer Officer in the U.S. Army and held multiple leadership positions, including Chief Human Resources Officer for a 550-soldier engineer battalion.

Lindsay Reimer is a trial attorney with more than 15 years of experience who has litigated hundreds of class and collective actions involving wage-and-hour issues.

Kimberley Dempster is an employment litigator with more than 25 years of management-side experience, and her practice focuses on single-plaintiff litigation and proactive advice and counsel.

Sarah Bennett is an employer-side litigator whose practice focuses on single-plaintiff and class and collective action litigation across Colorado, California, and Utah. Sarah also maintains a robust advice and counsel practice for national and international companies.
