State Department Expands Visa Bond Pilot Program to Include The Gambia
On September 26, 2025, the U.S. Department of State updated the list of countries included in its visa bond pilot program, pursuant to the temporary final rule published on August 5, 2025. As a result, beginning on October 11, 2025, nationals of The Gambia will also be subject to the visa bond requirement. This means that citizens of The Gambia, Malawi, and Zambia who are otherwise eligible for a B-1/B-2 visa must now post a bond ranging from $5,000 to $15,000 as part of the application process.
