EO 14173: DEI Strategic Enforcement Update

Executive Order (EO) 14173, “Ending Illegal Discrimination and Restoring Merit-Based Opportunity,” directs the attorney general to issue a strategic enforcement plan with “specific steps or measures to deter DEI programs or principles.” This webinar will provide an overview of the strategic enforcement plan, which is expected to be issued on or before May 21, 2025. The plan will include potential litigation related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), recommendations for civil compliance investigations of private employers, identification of “egregious and discriminatory DEI practitioners,” and potential “regulatory action and sub-regulatory guidance.” The speakers will discuss the evolving legal landscape and enforcement activities related to DEI programming and initiatives.
