Ogletree Deakins Partners with Casetext, Expands Knowledge Management, A.I. Capabilities

   |   Press Release

ATLANTA – September 17, 2020 – Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is partnering with Casetext, the creators of CARA A.I., to launch Compose. Ogletree Deakins is the first labor and employment law firm in the U.S. to implement Compose. The new technology allows an attorney to prepare a well-supported first draft of a brief, including the arguments, legal standards, and on-point citations, in a fraction of the time by combining cutting-edge artificial intelligence, automation, and legal know-how. Compose will be available to all of Ogletree Deakins’ attorneys and paralegals in the firm’s 53 offices.

“Ogletree Deakins’ early adoption of Compose aligns with the firm’s Client Pledge to embrace technology and innovation to better serve our clients,” said Matt Keen, Ogletree Deakins’ managing shareholder. “Compose is poised to have an immediate, positive impact on our clients and their continued ability to receive quality representation with exceptional value.”

“Because of their commitment to efficiency and track record of being on the cutting edge, Ogletree was one of the very first firms to see the value and potential in working with us on Compose,” said Jake Heller, Casetext’s CEO and co-founder. “We’re honored they chose to partner with us and become the first employment law firm to leverage A.I.-assisted brief drafting for employment motions.”

The partnership with Casetext to launch Compose is the latest endeavor from Ogletree Deakins’ award-winning Knowledge Management (KM) department. The KM department continues to invest heavily in infrastructure and technology to leverage the firm’s collective knowledge and experience. This remains evident through innovations such as the Clientlink Collaboration Platform, the firm’s award-winning knowledgebot, ODSearch, and the KM Legal Resource Center, all of which help Ogletree attorneys to work more efficiently and dramatically reduce costs for its clients.
