STAMFORD – July 17, 2023 – Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to announce the addition of Roberts Immigration Group to the firm’s Stamford office. Peter Roberts, who founded and operated Roberts Immigration Group for 10 years, joins the firm as shareholder. He is joined by three attorneys, including of counsel David Harrison and associates Marissa Harrell and Kaylyn Fagan. The team is further supported by numerous paralegals and business services professionals. These new additions bolster Ogletree Deakins’ immigration presence in the northeast and the technology sector.
Roberts has practiced business immigration law for more than three decades. He advises and counsels organizations of all sizes, including startups and early-stage companies, on the full range of U.S. employment-related immigration matters, including the creation of new businesses, the hiring and transfer of professionals, managers, and executives, and compliance with record-keeping and employment verification requirements. Roberts represents clients in myriad industries, including aerospace, artificial intelligence, education, energy, financial services, retail, etc. He also works closely with Silicon Valley venture investors, entrepreneurs, and accelerators.
“Ogletree Deakins’ business immigration practice has sustained significant expansion across the country. Peter’s niche experience within Silicon Valley presents the firm with a unique opportunity to further grow our immigration practice and better serve our clients,” said Jacky Maroney and Bernhard Mueller, co-chairs of Ogletree Deakins’ Immigration Practice Group. “Peter’s demonstrated ability and talent in navigating complex business immigration matters, along with his established presence in the startup and VC world, make him an invaluable addition to our Immigration practice and the firm at large.”
In addition to his business immigration practice, Roberts also represents individual clients on family-based immigration matters, including the acquisition and relinquishment of permanent residence and citizenship. Roberts earned his B.A. from Brown University and his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law. He clerked for Federal District Court Judge Marvin H. Shoob before entering private practice.
